Please mark your calendar for our 2022 Annual Business Meeting and Training!  Jacinta Gallant will offer a full day interactive workshop on the Lost Art of Asking: Bringing Questions into Option Generating. This workshop will help Collaborative Professionals ask better questions and how to keep interests on the table. We will learn how to work with a Decision – Making Agenda.

Conflict resolution professionals need strong communications skills and the ability to be productively curious. We ask questions to aid in understanding. We intend to be helpful and open, so when we get a defensive or resistant reaction, we wonder what went wrong!?

Hopefully, we have all felt the joy of a question that led to brilliant, illuminating insight!  This workshop is about how can all members of the professional team can do this more.  We will explore:

  • What kinds of questions help defuse defensiveness?
  • What does it mean to ask and listen to understand?
  • What should we be asking about?
  • What judgments or assumptions live in our questions?
  • How can we use questions to find creative solutions tailored to the clients’ needs?

And while we are at it, consider the case where you do fabulous work helping clients explore and articulate what matters, only to see the clients (and the team) return to positions and demands when we start exploring options? This workshop will help collaborative professionals ask better questions to keep what matters “on the table” when generating options for agreement.  We will learn how to work with a Decision-Making Agenda that tasks the clients and the team in generating options that meet the clients’ unique needs and values.
