Andrea Hirshman, Esq.
Andrea began her legal career in the family law section of Legal Services in Brooklyn and went on from there to handle matrimonial matters in a small boutique law firm. After seeing how litigating divorce tore families apart, Andrea left litigation and founded Hirshman Collaborative Law and Mediation in 2007. She offers divorce mediation, collaborative divorce and negotiated divorce as alternative processes to litigation. The core of Andrea’s practice is recognizing that the greatest common denominator of all people is their desire to be treated as if they matter - at all times.  When working with Andrea,  clients feel heard, understood, and  know they matter. They are able to have difficult conversations under Andrea’s guidance and forge a constructive path forward  together toward resolution of their issues.  Andrea is an active member of the close-knit professional community of mediators and collaborative attorneys in the Greater NY area. She has served on the boards of numerous organizations and is an active member in the NY Association of Collaborative Professionals, FDMCGNY, the NYS Council of Divorce Mediation and the National Association of Divorce Professionals.  She is also a member of the International Association of Collaborative Professionals, the NYS Women’s Bar, NYC Bar Association, and the Association of Conflict Resolution.  She is on the Supreme Court Roster of Mediators for Kings County and NY County, and on the roster of mediators for the NYC Family Courts as well. Andrea  is dedicated to and finds great satisfaction in navigating clients to resolution of their conflicts.  For more  information about Andrea, go to her website at andreahirshman.com.
