David A. Hoffman Presentation:

This session will be interactive, consisting of breakout exercises amongst attendees as well as group discussion.

Breakout groups: Roleplay amongst groups in navigating crisis events
Group will go back and forth between large group session/discussion and breakout throughout this hour.



David A. Hoffman

David A. Hoffman is the John H. Watson, Jr. Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School, where he teaches three courses: Legal Profession: Collaborative Law; Mediation; and Diversity and Dispute Resolution.  David is also a Collaborative Law attorney, mediator, arbitrator, and founding member of Boston Law Collaborative, LLC, where he handles cases involving family, business, employment, and other disputes.  Prior to founding Boston Law Collaborative in 2003, David was a litigation partner at the Boston firm Hill & Barlow, where he practiced for 17 years.  He was a founding member of MCLC and is past chair of the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution.  He has published four books on conflict resolution (including “Bringing Peace into the Room” (with Daniel Bowling)).  David is a graduate of Princeton (B.A. 1970); Cornell (M.A. 1974), and Harvard Law School (J.D. 1984), where he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review.  He lives in a co-housing community in Acton, Massachusetts with his wife, Leslie Warner.  They have five adult children, an adolescent cat, and a rescued Golden Retriever.  Contact info available at www.blc.law.
